Tracking Methods are the essential means of capturing data from your Data Sources; tied to events happening in your application / system, methods are used to carry the data according to your expectations. Each method is purpose built and has the right time and context to be used.

Types of tracking methods

We differentiate six different types of Tracking Method, based on purpose they are primarily used for:

  • Identify - Carries details on who the customer is
  • Track - Contains the data related to what customers are doing exactly
  • Page - Identifies the exact what web page where the customers are
  • Screen - Identifies the native application screen where the customers are
  • Group - Associates customers with companies or custom user groups
  • Alias - Merges multiple customer identities into a single customer entity
